According to legions of health food bloggers, the latest and greatest way to bounce out of bed is for a bowl of this Brazilian superfood.
The acai berry is a tropical fruit packed with a high concentration of antioxidants and a good source of vitamins C, A, B1, B2, B3 and E. It’s unlikely you’ll see a punnet of them in the supermarket as they’re highly perishable, but are sold as a frozen pulp or powder.
While many hipster cafes and smoothie bars have acai bowls on their menus, you can make them at home with Acai Pure smoothie packs and blend them up with your choice of fruit and a liquid (try coconut water for a refreshing option or almond milk for a creamy version) before sprinkling on some healthy toppings (chopped fruit, muesli or nuts and seeds all go down a treat).
