Haircare
___
Sukin
Sukin have won Best Vegan Haircare both years of the Nourish Vegan Awards so far, and best skincare too (read more below). It’s really no surprise: this brand is 100% vegan, cruelty-free, easy to find, and great value – as well as using all-natural ingredients that are good for us and the environment. Free from sulphates, silicones, and parabens, their haircare range caters to all hair types and concerns, promising good hair days, naturally. You can keep it simple with shampoo and conditioner or perhaps go for a truly great hair day with a treatment oil, hair masque, scalp scrub, or deep cleanse.
Olaplex
Thanks to patented bond-building chemistry, Olaplex works on a molecular level to repair damaged and broken bonds in hair caused by chemical, thermal, or mechanical damage. All products are non-toxic, cruelty free, and vegan, and the at-home range means we can all enjoy healthier, shinier, more vibrant hair every day. And clearly that’s exactly what many of us are doing, with Olaplex voted straight onto the finalists’ podium in the Nourish Vegan Awards Haircare category this year!
Ethique
Ethique began in a New Zealand kitchen when founder Brianne decided to save the world from plastic bottles by creating solid shampoo and conditioner bars for all hair types. And she’s making ground! The now-global brand is a favourite everywhere and has an impressive list of certifications, including vegan, cruelty free, palm oil free, 100% plastic free, and now climate positive, too. If you’re looking to go low-waste with no compromise on results, the Nourish community vouches that Ethique’s got the goods – voting them to the Haircare finals both years of the Nourish Vegan Awards so far.
Skincare
___
Sukin
Not just loved for their haircare range (see above), Sukin are clear favourites for skincare too, winning a Nourish Vegan Award in this category two years running! The entire range is vegan, cruelty free, Australian made, and carbon neutral, and they’re bound to have a natural skincare range suitable for you, no matter your skin type or concern. Sukin was among the first brands to say no to artificial additives and harsh chemicals and they’ve been developing and growing their ranges since. Cleansers, toners, exfoliators, moisturisers, masks, oils, serums – they’ve got it all, at affordable prices and widely available too.
Aesop
Aesop unite luxury and minimalism with their carefully-considered skincare range. They believe in a straightforward but consistent approach: assiduous cleansing, toner to balance, and adequate hydration for fresh, supple, healthy skin. All products are certified vegan friendly and cruelty free, while the company is carbon neutral and a registered B Corp. This combination of performance and ethical integrity saw them voted to the finals for Best Vegan Skincare in the latest Nourish Vegan Awards, in addition to a place in the finals for Body Care (see below).
Natio
Natio is the ancient name for the goddess of nature, chosen by this Australian, family-owned brand to symbolise the pure, natural, plant-based origins of their product range. Based on a foundation of aromatherapy, they use pure plant extracts to support happy, healthy, radiant skin for all types and concerns. The brand delivers great value, all products are certified cruelty free, and the vast majority are also vegan friendly – so it’s no surprise they were voted to the finals for Best Vegan Skincare in the latest Nourish Vegan Awards.
Body care
___
Lush
Beloved for their fresh, handmade products, LUSH have been cruelty free and vegetarian since day one, and over 80% of their range is now vegan. Creative and often whimsical, their body care range includes colourful soaps, scrubs, fizzy bath bombs, quirky bubble bars and shower jellies, as well as dreamy lotions, solid deodorant bars, and scented massage bars. They believe natural plants, clays, butters, and essential oils are safer, have a proven history of effective use, and are much kinder to the environment. They favour naked packaging, and are working hard to remove preservatives too. Loved the world over, we weren’t surprised to see them scoop the winner’s trophy for Best Vegan Body Care in the Nourish Vegan Awards two years running.
Aesop
Nourish Vegan Awards finalists not only for Skincare (see above) but Body Care too, Aesop are clearly loved for their gorgeous range of aromatic 100% vegan formulations. Their body care products deliver a complete sensory experience, leaving you feeling elevated, elegant, and beautifully-groomed. Their soaps, cleansers, balms, scrubs, treatment oils, and hydrators are all enriched with nourishing botanicals and pleasurable aromatics, adding a touch of thoughtful luxury to our daily routines.
TOM ORGANIC
TOM ORGANIC set out to take the taboo out of period care and transform the feminine hygiene industry with their range of Certified Organic tampons, pads, and liners. The range has now expanded to include reusable period underwear and menstrual cups made from 100% medical-grade silicone. Most products are fully biodegradable, and everything is PETA-Approved Vegan. The Nourish community evidently approves, voting them to the finals for Best Vegan Body Care in the latest Nourish Vegan Awards.
