Nutrify your life by incorporating these phenomenal superfood ingredients on a regular basis.
A new year is always a time to reflect on our goals and envision the positive shifts we’d like to see for ourselves and our world. Now more than ever, health is a key focus for Australians, with four out of five of us already prioritising nutrition as a key component of becoming and remaining healthy. If you’re looking for an easy way to nutrify your life in 2022, then superfoods are a fantastic option.
Supercharge with superfoods
A superfood is any food item that is nutritionally-dense and rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Superfoods aren’t limited to one type of food, and include fruits, vegetables, seeds, and spices.
As the head nutritionist at Juiced Life, I have the privilege of crafting incredible recipes across our range of juices, smoothies, salads and meals – always focusing on helping people get more nutritionally-dense plant ingredients into their diet. Here I share five of my favourite superfoods, along with explanations of their uses and benefits.
1. Turmeric
A mainstay in Indian cuisine, turmeric is a rich yellow-coloured spice that has countless health benefits – even in small doses. Turmeric (along with its main active ingredient, curcumin) can improve heart health and act as an anti-inflammatory.
As Juiced Life, we use turmeric in our My Liver Detox wellness shot, My Recovery shot and My Turmeric Orange to promote detoxification, support the nervous system, and more.
2. Maca
The maca plant grows in high-altitude areas of Peru, and is renowned for its plethora of natural health benefits. Maca is connected to enhanced fertility, improved sleep, and higher energy levels. It’s even been shown to work against different types of flu viruses.
You can enjoy all of these health benefits in My Fresh Green, and our almond milk Hot Chocolate, both of which offer a replenishing, antioxidant-rich boost at any time of day.
3. Ginger
Ginger is a highly versatile food that can be eaten on its own, in a drink, or in a wide array of delicious sweet and savoury dishes. It offers an aromatic spicy kick, along with numerous health perks. Specifically, ginger is recognised for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pro-digestive properties.
Ginger features in over 20 products across the Juiced Life range. One example is our incredible Remedy Soup, which combines coconut water with ginger, carrot, beetroot, tomato, celery, and capsicum to keep your immune system strong all year long.
4. Spinach
Leafy greens are a quintessential superfood. Not only are they rich in several key vitamins and minerals, but they are a great source of insoluble fibre, which aids in digestion. Spinach is a versatile member of the leafy-greens family, and has been proven to regulate blood pressure, improve eye health, and reduce cancer risk.
With all of these incredible benefits, it’s no surprise that spinach can be found in multiple products from the Juiced Life range. Our My Digestive wellness shot, for example, is packed with spinach to provide a healthy boost in a small dose.
5. Beetroot
From burgers to salads to dips, beetroot is extremely popular in Aussie cuisine. And as it turns out, this vegetable offers a range of impressive health benefits, too. Beetroot has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, with the potential to lower blood pressure and improve exercise stamina.
The Juiced Life team decided to take advantage of beetroot’s health benefits by incorporating it into our My Heartbeat cold-pressed juice, which is designed to improve immunity and boost heart health. Beetroot is also used in our Beetroot Salad, Remedy Soup and Liver Detox shot.

At Juiced Life, we offer dozens of vegan products to help you achieve your healthiest life, and the option to veganise most other items with simple ingredient swaps. In addition to the five powerhouse ingredients above, we also use many other superfoods, from cacao to wheatgrass, to help you follow a well-balanced diet. If you’re among the 80 percent of Australians already seeking to include more nutrients into your life, these are a perfect way to upgrade your health and wellbeing this year.
